I've actually put it in my shed. I don't need a machete but the handle is in good nick and has brass inserts.

It's does have a name on the blade, I'll check it out in the morning.

I wonder if it's more a meat cleaver than a machete.

After a week or so with nothing but ring pulls I found a travelers coin spill.

French Franc, a couple from Bahrain and an Austrian 10 Groschen.

The round 20 with the hole is a Greek 20 Lepta according to the 'coinoscope' app.

The really corroded one with the wavy circumference is a '10 paise' 1975 from India

The aluminium coins feel terrible in the hand, not too exciting but better than ring pulls.

First time out for a while and I tried my 12" coil on the Vanquish 540 for the first time at a spot I've been to before a few times.

The remains of a costume jewelry brooch 9 Karat gold band, a Silicon Tungsten Carbide ring and a 1/2P coin from 1971.

No ID engraved on the wedding band and it was down quite deep so I think its been there a long while.

Interesting to me that the larger coil threw up lots of deeper targets. The depth indication seemed to be wildly wrong compared to when I used my small V8 coil.

The knife cleaned up OK, it's a Ka-Bar Warthog 3. The cutting edge is chewed up and needs reforming, I'm not sure I'm up for that.
I'll probably keep it in my finds pouch for cutting fishing line and stuff like that.

Thanks for confirmation on the harmonica reed part.

Some riverside finds from today.

A 1943 threepence and a couple of mystery finds.

Any ideas what the castellated ring thing is, its weakly magnetic. 8 segments. Maybe some brass or copper in it.

I don't know what the bullet like thing is either. Its coarsely machined brass. The mid-body ring is like a barb on a air or water fitting. The rear face isn't flat and has a pip where it was parted off on a lathe.

If I've learned anything watching the Coffee Bush Kid on youtube, it's that the ring thing is probably a bit of the runner off an umbrella or parasol...
