Matturbo, sounds like a fabulous weekend. As much as we all love hunting gold and sapphires it it really good to sit back and smell the roses. Well done on a good weekend. I'll be up there if only for some of your homebrew and smoked meats. :)

I had A great trip, Old Tex at Sapphire Bend was a fountain of useful info my finds there included a .7c blue dog tooth sapphire and similar size orange zircon nuthin big but saw the potential . I also investigated retreat deep lead and specked couple sapphire chips there too. Ha my only suggestion for next time dig holes first, party afterwoods wisdom comes with age :lol: . Hope wife enjoys the topaz.

Yes thanks Ted, she loves it. Yeah I know, my mates decided that morning they were coming and we've all been stressed lately so some steam was let off, I'm going to bring a crowbar to get through that clay
