Have a good look around for well worn rounded pebbles/stones on the surface on steep slopes. Indicators of ancient river beds. Good luck with the reno's and the fossicking and let us know what you find mate. Maybe some pics of what your seeing.

Thanks DH there's also a couple of spots close in the forest that I know the wash is shallow, I may have a dig there and bring back a bucket or two to study what I'm looking for too, if the house was settled I'd jump straight in, this has been the longest few weeks ever!

Thanks guys I was planning pics of the river, AKA swamp grass but ran out of time so didn't get to go down the back, I'll take plenty pics when we attack! If there's nothing on mine, no biggy, theres plenty of forest to play in.

Lol before I got hooked I always thought nobody went out prospecting anymore but am amazed at the number of people I meet who enjoy it.

Finally get the keys today, that felt like eternity! Now I just have to resist the urge to cancel all my clients for the rest of the week.
Looking forward to meeting A couple of members, bacon is curing, beer is carbonating, jerky and snags I'll make Friday and ready to overload my head with info.

A big thanks to Digginholes and fossickeract for coming out. DH, his lil bro plus a couple of my mate came Saturday arvo, and we met up with FA Sunday morning. Saturday night turned into a much bigger night than expected so we only ended up with a couple hours sleep with a seedy wake up lol. We dug a couple of test holes on my creek but after no signs of wash after 1.2m we decided to move into the forest to show what wash looked like and find some colour. We ended up with a few small sapphires, small zircon and a bloody great weekend,

Yep Wally, it was fun when my mate decided to explore the property at 1am with his 4x4 with DH following, lots of bogging, steep climbs and fun, going to cook up a bunny I shot later in the week. I soooo didn't want to come home
