Hi guys, I too am very inexperienced in regards to metal detecting.
My wife and I like to travel Australia with the 4wd and van in tow. (Not as much as I would like).
I own an Equinox 800 as I am interested in Beach and Relic hunting, but if a gold nugget wants to show itself I won't mind!.
Only had it a few weeks.
Anyway, I am learning and hope to gain knowledge from you guru's!!

Cheers Dave :pickshovel:

G'day DLD welcome to PA can't help you with equinox info just use the search icon top left :Y: then get busy asking questions to rack up your 10 post's and the members section will open up for you. All the best when you get amongst it

Hi Dave and welcome.

If you're really keen to find gold with the 800 and like to travel, have you considered Tibooburra? It's a long trip but its a place where you are most likely to pick up some small gold. It has a large town common where there have been lots of historical dry blowing. There was some talk a while ago of the locals charging a fee to detect the commons, not sure if that ever went ahead.
I managed to pick a piece up on Gumvale station using the Equinox that didn't even register on my scales :)

On the way out or back you could also call into a little opal town called Yowah. A mate and missus have a shop and lease out there and it's well worth the visit, has a small caravan park, hot spring spa and free camping area in the town.

Thanks bicter, Right in the corner of NW NSW.
Love it out west, But not in Summer :sunny: , will have to look at in winter.
