I've had a few folk ask for my Baofeng UV-5R file.
I have had problems emailing it, so have put it on my Google Drive.
Bear in mind, this is a base file for you to modify for your self!
I did not program repeaters, but essentially, it is the Aus. 80 ch. UHF frequencies.
Future use channels and VHF have been disabled.
Using the file directly will show that your radio is owned by Simmo on start up!!
You will need a programming lead and CHIRP to edit the file!

This file should work for you?

This guy must be out in the country and have a lot of space, looks like his room would make NASA jealous, but I don't see any Faraday cage lining.
Don't you guys do that anymore ?

I have a 100' 4 stage galvanized steel tower for sale.... just winch it up.

After installing the base. And guy wires, all 9 of them. And of course the guy wire ground points, in concrete.

It was an interesting task for me climbing it to dismantle the stage locking bolts, and coax straps as it was laid up the outside of the tower, so I had to go all the way to the antenna at the top.
Still got the vhf antenna too, ex taxi company, folded loop (??) looks like a paper clip shape.

OMG!!! I want it!
I too have climbed many towers that today would be deemed as unsafe work practice!!!!
I've been showing my wife various towers around town that I know are/ or going to be decommissioned...
I think the only true decommissioning will be me if I bring one of these home!!
If our plans had come together in a different way, I would have wacked a big MF tower up at the camp lease for sure!
The noise floor there was nigh on zero!!

Well!
My first QSO on Digital modes (Olivia) with the G90, unbelievably with another G90 user!!
Cairns to Sydney on 10 watts is ok I reckon??
Damn does the radio get hot on 100% duty cycle eh??!!
Another first for me, but **** it takes some learning!!

Well pay up Makka and keep the call!!!
I must admit, it hasn't cost a great deal in money to get back into the hobby, I think its absolutely kept my mind active in learning new things etc..
Talk to ya on Olivia soon eh???!

USA Halloween special deal on the 'best' Amateur radio software out there..
Couldn't resist so pulled the trigger!
Now I would say another week or two of learning before I can actually make a contact somewhere in the world??!

Got hold of a mast from a deceased estate, had an old 'Stationmaster' vertical on it!
I've refurbed that classic old antenna and it will go on a lower mount on my shed roof for 11 mtrs.
Got the mast up with the 8 mtr squid pole on top with the inverted L end fed long wire antenna.
Looks bloody high!!
SWR is below 1:1 right across except 80 mtrs.

U need one of these Simmo...
One of the best tools I ever bought for antenna tuning.. a AIM 4170 http://www.w5big.com I never looked back after buying one.
You can get cheap HF & VHF VNAs on eBay delivered ex Chyna for under $200. I bought one just for the heck of it for VHF work.. to my surprise it works well but unlike the AIM products it has no computer interface, only a tiny colour display

example 4170 result from w5big website

So I got my antenna mast up, but I am going to change the configuration this weekend, because others in Southern Qld and NSW (that I can talk to) are getting into Europe, but I cant!
And that ain't on!!
Anyway, turned the radio on, moved the antenna a tad and bang! Onto one of the stations I have been trying to copy... in SWITZERLAND!!
Awesome to talk to HansPeter, who reckons I live in an awesome part of the world!! I replied 'Touche'!
