Spent this arvo trying to clean out some more targets from the 1800's/1900's sawmill site, concentrating on the former residence site and around the sawpit. Was a bit of a crap day to start off with, found a roo half penny straight up, then my belt broke leaving my jeans around my ankles and no where to mount my finds bag. Compounding those troubles I had an emergency call of nature, and waddled awkwardly back to the car to get the dunny paper, only to find my MI-6 pinpointer was missing!
I grabbed the spare Garrett finds bag and AT propointer, and ended up retracing my route through the forest, luckily I spotted the pinpointer lying next to a stump - phew! Things started to get a bit better, with a 1943 thrip detected at the base of a rash inducing bush, then after clearing away some piled branches, picked up the 1933 penny. Spent probably another hour picking up low conductor targets (buttons, rivets, etc), and located a couple of nice musket balls. The 1864 penny came from dirt piled up around the saw pit, and it proved to be in excellent condition once cleaned up. The small bottle came from buried dump full of broken glass shards, wasn't too keen to explore further not wearing gloves (yeah, I know - in the naughty corner).
Didn't get many photos due to leaving the camera in the car with no belt to carry it on.
I'm sure there is still plenty to find here, if it were not for all the dead branches and trees littering the site - will have to wait for another few years for them to rot.
