Hi Guys
Well ive always loved GOLD
How can you not
Ive been reading alot on this forum and you guys are very helpful and informative
I live on the Far North Coast of NSW
Im heading off to Drake next week for a scout i know bugger all about the area other then it had gold in the early 1800's and its close to home
And i figure at best i find a spec at worse i spend a few nice quite days in the bush in my swag looking at a fire drinking a stiff Wild Turkey Win Win
any and all guidance greatly appreciated
Cheers fjute1955

Gday mate, welcome aboard.
I don't know the area personally as I am in Victoria. Are you planning on detecting? Panning? That might help some of the many knowledgeable fellas on here give you a steer in the right direction as they've recently done for me.
Best of luck!

Haha your right sorry was very nervous writing my introduction and plum forgot
Ill be trying my luck at panning :D

Haha all good mate. Its not my area of expertise. I did find some gold panning when I was 10 with the help of a barefoot bushman haha. I'm sure some of the fellas will chime in and give ya some advice mate.
Best of luck

Hi ppl, am new here had a look at some of the posts , and found them to be interesting so decided to join and gain some info and give some if i can lol been detecting since 72 mainly starting with a Whites then moved to Garrett, then started on the Minelabs 16/ then xt17000 which i found to be an excellent machine ( i still have 3 which i loan to ppl when they want to try their hand at detecting ) i usually keep up with Minelabs new releases and had just about all of them , now running 5000 , though i see they have a new 1 out, although i find it a bit pricy so wont be getting 1 , as i doubt very much if it goes 40% deeper , but thats another story Davext

Gday Dave. Welcome aboard. You've been detecting for longer than I've been alive and I think that's absolutely awesome mate. Sure you've had your fair share of yellow over the years. Got a mate with the new 7000, he speaks very highly of it however he thinks that his 4500 would have found everything that his new 7000 has so far. He says it runs incredibly smooth and is quite impressive on all target sizes.
Not trying to police the forum or anything, but are you aware of the start new topic button up the top? Probably shoulda started your own post with the introductions etc. I'm sure you can share some knowledge with newbies like myself with all that experience you've acquired over the years ?

OOps lol i thought i posted in the introduce myself section am just making my way around forum
, i have used a couple of forums b4 but couple of things are different
, i will get my act together shortly lol and yeh i suppose i have a few stories i did get 1 published 0h maybe 15 yrs ago in the Gem / Treasure magazine Dave xt

No , am up in the Kimberly Region WA , came up here in 78 to do some work , never left lol , actually had a spell down in Perth for the kids schooling , while down there Kal was the nearest goldfield , so spent fair amount of time , but my main area has been Halls Creek/ surrounding areas, there are still so many areas up here in the Kimberly to detect, it would take 10 lifetimes , and you still only scratch the surface Dave xt
