Awesome!!!!! its my birthday today and i got an AT Gold!!!! definately heading out tomorrow to start learning the machine. STOKED!!!! long gully here i come ?

Not too sure the AT will be much good down there, couple of Qlders I met there earlier this year were staying in Tabulum, crevicing in the creek then going back and detecting the racetrack for coins - did ok at the track. Was a good morning on McLeods, sun shining, warm water and chunk

Hey Myazma nice one! I think I went to the same spot with the fam today, nice effort, I found a few specs in a crevice next to where a sluice was recently set up , then went to test run the AT gold and check the creek out. the kids had fun too! Might go camping at that area down long gully, I spoke to some campers who said that it was a crown land where people camp regularly, I was looking for the fire trail at Hong Kong point, which I think may be the same spot (?). Anyways, had a great day, found gold in the pan, junk with the detector and a few new spots to check out next time!! Cheers!

MJB, cheers always good to just go straight in to a spot you know has colour and dig till ya hearts content.

Ozdigga, find the right crevice and you will do quite well there but a lot have been reemed out in the last 12 months. The whole Timbarra region is pretty spesh.
