Damn. That is around the time that Cook bumped into Australia.
Yea its an old coin... and I'm extremely happy with it. when i dug it up i ran over to the tabs my mum was siting at jumped on it and yelled "1700s" jumped off with a "oh what a feeling toyota" style jump an ran back to the hole.Ramjet said:Damn. yea i don't really know why someone wouldn't like big silver... thanksGoldpick said:How can you not be excited about finding big silver, it doesn't happen everyday (unless your name is Ramjet). It has nothing to do with value in a monetary sense, more to do with the thrill of the hunt so to speak, and as a result of research paying dividends.
I am yet to find a chinese coin myself, so well done on the find LS, she's an oldy.
And the history and the thrill of excitement.JeffP said:So , its the SILVER in the Florins that make them special ? Cool

You lucky so and so lol Going to wear it?
thanks! yea I've been thinking about that... maybe a ladies husband couldn't afford a ring so he reached into his pocket and pulled out a shilling, off to work he goes, hammering in the sides then clearing out the middle making it just the right size, then months later she looses it while they were in this park.Sandta said:Thats a very cool find indeed
We can only imagine the story that ring would hold
cool! That looks awesomeRamjet said:I think that is a very cool find. I have been messing around making coin rings. Practicing with coppers before I do a silver. Want to do a 1963 Florin. My birth year. This is the first attempt. A half penny. you can buy them on ebay. The silvers look brilliant.
