When I look back over the years, and I grew up,I see the situation like the frog in the pot.

The boiling frog is an anecdote describing a frog slowly being boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if it is put in cold water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death.

At some stage you have to have some right to protect your property and family. Shame there is no LAW as to what every one calls a Home Invasion. Law only recognises Trespass or Break and Enter...

Here's the legislation for the Qld "Home Invasion Act" https://www.legislation.qld.gov.au/Bills/50PDF/2002/OccHIPrB02_P.pdf

Open to interpretation but you can use as much force as necessary to stop the perpetrators without fear of repercussion or litigation (it would appear) .......

Defence against intruders
(1) It is lawful for an occupant of a dwelling house to use any force or do
anything else the occupant believes is necessary

So if you look at the definition of Castle Law the above legislation certainly covers it.

[re; pics]...HA!...will ya look at that?...Didn't even have to get the detector out (to find lead)...

Seriously though, really glad no-one was hit/hurt, other than the now, incident induced stress being experienced....i trust that will pass soon enough in the absence of further similar incidents.

The things kids have to go through these days just to get "street cred"...which we all know amounts to little in the "big wide world"...

I can't recall the name of the last guy i met who had "street cred"...funny that eh?

Here's hoping for a more pleasant and prosperous 2017 for all.

One thing I forgot to add to I remember "WHEN"

"Carjacking" that was when changed the tyre on your car.

WOW..

I got done by a dash and run yesterday arvo... Scored my Wallet (usually never leave it around) and all our spare House and Car keys...

Two Toyota's 2013 models = No change form $4.5K they tell me for replacements and new barrels and new coding.

House = 2 new door locks to be fitted and extra locks on the Auto Garage Doors $1.2K

None of it covered under insurance...

CC's all stopped within 10min of it going down

They got maybe $25 and useless credit cards

Not happy jan, but at least no Guns involved.

RM - Many thanks - May yet need to chat...

The *******s have come back again, but we disturbed them... If they have been other times to check the place out - We do not know.

Mum Passed 8 weeks ago, Dad is 85 and doing it a bit tough, Son's partner had her car stolen 3 days after mum passed and we donated my wife's car to them. Alternator dies last night so it is on the side of the highway at the moment.

And the NEW / Secondhand Corolla bought with a few dollars from my Wife's dads passing about 12 months ago; is the one Toyota want big $ to re cut/program etc..

The HiLux looks like I can get away by getting it done outside of Toyota for under $1K

So yep... Last 2 months have been a bit ****.

Bring on 2017 and a big pile of KAMA...

Did the Old lady across the road, but we heard the same car as per previously and disturbed them. Am sure if we did not we may have at least heard them trying to get into the house.

But can do nothing until Locksmiths return to work...

But Wife is not feeling safe and every time a noisy car goes by or a noise out side - Stress goes up.

If some Pollie would put support the following; I would VOTE for them 100%. Castle Law

The are using a Stolen Dark Nissan Dual Cab 161 SJQ and around 4030 and close by places....

with a bit of luck cops will catch them and get all the keys back , leaving you wondering if they had time to get the car keys copied or just threw them in a pile with their other stolen stuff..... shops are closed so its 99.9999 % that the keys were not copied.

That's the hard bit... Not knowing.

So rather than live in a state of constant stress. Spend 1/2 years pension and can sleep in a better state of mind.

Gee mark that surprised me. I know where you live & i thought it is a nice area with parks near by. Just goes to swow ya. It's everywhere. Mate hope you can get it sorted out so you can sleep at night. Cheers.

Home invasion in Nowra NSW this morning
at about 0830 two young males age approx 16-20 knocked on the front door of the elderly mans (70s) house 2 doors up from me when he answered the door they pushed him over and then layed the boots in all they got was a handful of change off the table
what he got was and trip to hospital broken nose, cut eyes, sore kidneys, neck and back and he will be in hospital for a few days
i saw them walk past my place then run back past a few min later trying to cross the Princes Hwy nearly getting run over a few times by both north and south bound traffic i now wish the cars would have hit them
i have given the cops a good description so we hope they will be busted very soon
all i can say is they are gutless pricks
What the hell is happening in this country

Had something similar happen to Me here in Qld... #$%#$ tried to break-in through bathroom window... As he tried to lift himself in through window I slammed the window shut trapping his fingers in the window....Ouch, He lost the tips of three fingers and then took off .... Called Cops and together we followed the blood trail to a unit...Gotcha... Cop said " In your house you can do what you want to them ..But outside in your yard or in my case at the window I could be charged  Lucky for me this #$%$# was too off his face to care and no charges laid .... I should have pulled him in and kicked the s#$% out of him Cop said....... Baseball Bats now live at every door in my house now.... I will DO Anything to protect My Family... Anything.... ;) Times are tough out there and now Centrelink is cutting these F@#$% off the Dole, so they turn to us for their money or goods to sell for their Fix of Crap....
