Hi All
I am taking a trip out to Delegate & Bendoc area with my finished Walbanker for a test run, there are a few old gold mines out there some were?
I will be meeting up with a friend who lives there, so it should be a good day!! I will take a few photos for when i get my ten posts up, I will send some in.
G'day fellas thanks soflaming much for your years of input, I'm visiting the Bombala region as my wife is a native Douch, and I'm keen to have a look around for that shiny old Yella fella if 7.62 marksman left any.....
I'm in Qld and found good fit of in the durakai Forrest and thanes creek is always good, if your near Warwick have a look

Ive travelled out through Bendoc.

Family live near Bombala.

Can support the warning about the snakes.

Couple old timber cutters gave me directions to the mines, and the warnings.

Tigers, death adders, and jumping jacks.

Didnt see any adders, but apparently they arent easy to spot. But they weren't lying about jumping jacks.

We get the inch ants (i know them as bullants) down here , but those jumping jacks seem to be another thing all together. Evolution has enabled them to get on you quicker than boo.

Fair warning.

You can go visit the spot they dynamited out a cave in the hillside to divert the river (Delegate River from memory) to chase the gold.

Interesting place.

I lost my sucker bottle on the SE side flowing downriver that had Cooma and bendoc gold in it. Im a generous fella, if you find it you are welcome to keep it.

Good luck GS
