Rockhampton Council has approved a new fossicking area at #7 Dam at Mt. Morgan. No sluices, highbankers, dry blowers or any mechanical equipment to be used, metal detectors accepted and a fossicking license is required. Opening mid 2025.

For those heading up that way I recommend the Silver Wattle Caravan Park. Sundown campfire sessions & v friendly owners who are pro detecting, even though they dont detect themselves.
