Looking at getting a DD Leather bunji cord with a velcro shaft attachment for my GPZ 7000. Does it stay put or does it need regular adjustment? I am not using a 19" coil. What is your experience?
Thanks.
I swear by them, I wouldn't not use a GPZ without having one of those heavy duty bunji cords attached on the shaft, even when detecting with the smaller coils, rarely needs adjustment.
I purchased a hipstick thingy many years ago but have never felt the need to use it as with this setup I can detect for up to 10+ hours a day comfortably, and I am no spring chicken.
Of course what works and is comfortable for one prospector may not suit another one, so best to buy and try it out for yourself, they are not too expensive at around $40 or whatever they sell for now so wont break the bank.

PS: forgot to mention that I use a backpack similar to what came with the early SD detectors to carry my gear and water when prospecting in the hills so this acts as a nice counter balance to the detector and coil.
If you are only using the Minelab harness with this bunji it may not be as comfortable and well balanced to use for long periods of time.
