Today old house,

Would love to detect more locations like that, looks like fun. The coins also look like they will clean up well, and don't look very worn at all. :)

Great finds and photos Cheese,...start from one side,... clear a path of rocks,..detect,... clear next section,..detect,...repeat repeat repeat,...untill it's all done and you have the lot,...keep all the rocks up the same way so it still looks the goods to one and all,... just clear out all the signals laying beneath the stoneworks that have fallen over time(not the ones still standing though),(ha). :D

In what I have found is that all old buildings have
what I might call a sweet spot for detecting.
Most would go straight to the buildings and detect close,
and some time finds are made close.
I have seen one real nice find from a old building
but only one.
I scout detect out from the buildings away a bit
as to find where they loaded there ride of transport,
Also Seems people like to have a spot out side there dwelling
where they sit, like old trees that are not there any more but
the only hint is the sounds of finding a patch to work on.
One question I ask the farmer whos land I want to detect on is
have they seen any broken bottles or plates or signs
of peoples movements.
I do like to detect ground top soil that has been moved,
all town have piles of dirt moved from parts of land to make way for a house
or building, I think like this, like au detecting when they say the place has
been flogged. well it aint.

cheese how old do you think that buckle is above the coin? i found 2 of them exactly the same by a tree not too long ago. interesting
any iudeas?

The old Buckle, about 1890s 1900.
I have found them at all spots where I have found old coins,
old buttons are another good sign,
One thing I do is check iffy signal to see what type of tin
is under ground, and ferrous types of readings I will encounter
this gives me a good idea of where things were in the past.

yes i do exactly that as well cheese. always in a new spot. could be an 1800s milk bottle tin top and then you could be in for some goodies.
ok so i found these two buckles as well, by a tree. must be a good indicator this area is late1800s early 1900s cool

Great hunt,..love that 6d, and those photos have great quality Chese,... I wonder what the story was behind the ribbon,.. looks festive. :)

Found this away from the ruin,
Nice, soz for blanking out the 1st name
but you can read the last name.
Now I am not sure if the house was built
when they lost this tag, it is from a travel box,
now I need to date them lamp parts.
I am thinking that this patch away from the ruin is an old
camp spot, no house there, the ribbon was near the name tag
so nice.
