Coil identification (GP Extreme 1100)

It is the black DD coil that came standard with the GP extreme model. I think back then the smaller mono coils were white. The larger monos may have been green.
If you still need assurance, you can easily check by putting it on your machine and switching the DD/Mono switch.
A mono coil will not work at all if the mode is switched to DD.
A DD coil will continue to work in either mode setting although in mono mode only one half the DD coil will work turning it into a half sized mono.
There was a very recent thread on this forum about using a DD coil in mono which would be helpful.
PS I quite liked the black colour and not sure why it was discontinued for later models.

With your ohm meter from pin 5 to pins 4, and 3 on both mono and DD should read 0.4 ohms that is the TX side of the coil if pin 2 also reads 0.4 ohms it is a Mono coil if pin 2 reads anywhere from 5 to 20 ohms it will be a DD coil pins 1 and 5 are connected together and form the ground side of the coils and pins 1 and 2 connect to the RX coil.

Put coil on the 4500.
Select DD mode.
Set iron reject high (suggest 8).
Pass the coil over a large iron object. If the response blanks it's a DD.
Iron reject does not work using a Mono.

Hi all. I’ve got a gp textreme with that coil as well as Coiltek 14 mono and 18 did orange coils that I’m thinking of selling what sort of money do you think it’s worth $$$
It depends on the battery set up.
Nobody wants the old lead acids any more.
