We run a Breville BES 870 off a 2.0 Honda, this coffee machine has a built in grinder too so makes carrying it and coffee beans really easy. You get fresh coffee every day in the bush and the wife is happy.

What's the problem, the gen revs up and revs down.
That's what they do when put under a heavy sporadic load.
Has it got a economy switch? if so turn it off.

Edit, just looked at the manual for your gen, turn the smart throttle off and see how that goes.

I like the Alcafe Instant from Aldi. I have the Aldi coffee pod machine but am not sure what the current draw is. Might test it tommorrow.
approx 110 amps :Y:

Snot a welder!! maybe 5 or 6 A.

99.8% of pod machines are approx 1100 watts :power:

read the bottom and do the maths

if it were drawing 110 amps :8 you'd need a small truck just to pull the Genny around. Expensive setup just for coffee. :(

Jethro I think ctx is thinking he wants to run it from a 12v inverter.

I have 12v, 24v and 48v systems in various things, then 240v and big diesel dc gen.

Amps will vary in each of them, usually better to talk about watts. That is the power they draw, current can vary even with wiring etc, so not the best way to measure.

Yep did that OP with the switch just they recommend not to have stuff running on it ,that cut in and out on regular basis yes it will do it , but in i want look after the gennie that why I've asked about going the 12v inverter way ,so i run the gennie ,charge batteries and the inverter can suck from batteries without putting up and down load on gennie ps the missus has been pissing herself laughing what siad about her, ctx kid... she like your set up in the back of ute my missus ran her own business for 20yrs butcher shop and get up 4.30 in the morning and did,nt get home 6.30 at night min and later for xmas, Easter etc, but i reckon now it her time to get some time back ,and if she want it ill try my dam hardest to give it to her thank all for comments..

Sorry mate, my bad, I thought you were wondering why your gen surged like that.

You need info on 12v systems and inverters etc that has been covered many many times over, here is one thread that may be of interest.

I wake, hit the jug, wizz, so long as the first cafine hit is real quick! I dont care. Just dont expect any worthy convo untill the 3rd cup is empty.
If it wasnt for caffine.... amphetamines would be handed out legally at work!
