Sixty odd years ago,every Xmas I spent my school holidays riding the footplate on that train,as my aunt lived close to the butter factory which was on the same line that fed coal to the Gas Works(last week in the news as after it was demolished the Camden high school was built. A cancer cell appears kto be traced to the School site & wether it was caused by exposure to contaminated soil left from the gas works,)
As a kid , I can remember throwing lumps of coal at rabbits along the line.

The. days were exquisite if you were a train nutter, backwards & forwards to Cambelltown on the engine.
