What was the steepest grade NSWGR. railway line in NSW.

Note ----- WAS the steepest & a conventional traction line

The Scenic Railway in Katoomba, which closed down this year for renovations, but has now re-opened, is the steepest cable drive funicular railway in the world.
for standard railways, the Camden tram had a gradient of 5.3%.

Dr duck got it,but a regular side tank Loco pulling a passenger car & a goods wagon as well ------.Not a tram .-----The milk from the Camden butter factory was shipped on this train.

The passenger service on the old Camden to Campbelltown line was called the Camden tram, but your'e right, the line did freight as well. Passengers used to often have to get out and walk beside the train in the steepest bits.

New question shortly!
