I didn't think it would take long, GT has it.
William Buckley escaped in Melbourne and lived with the Aborigines for over 30 years. He was adopted by them because when they found him asleep he was holding a spear that was placed over the body of one of their deceased so they assumed he was their tribe members spirit returned.

I think we've had questions on Buckley before.
Here is the details on my previous question about the first commercial shipment from the colony.
In 1801 the brig Lady Josepha, 120 tons, the first vessel of any size to enter Hunter's River, loaded 150 tons of coal for Sydney. This cargo was sold to Captain Tennent of the Earl Cornwallis who was preparing to sail for Bengal. Commenting on this sale, Governor King wrote; 'This is the first return made from New South Wales." It was indeed the colony's first export.

Sorry for the delay, I've had visitors for the last few days.
Anyway, I met a couple of notorious blokes at the races, and very briefly joined their gang.

Well slowflow, you are heading in the right direction, as there has been a bit of a bushranger theme lately....
Just noticed what this thread is about, just awesome I love history, our history. Just spent the last hour reading about our colourful bush rangers. No idea what the answer is, but I'm addicted!
I'll give a hint, and obscure one, though. I was looking up the bloke to find out more about him and found out that the son of a recent Australian test cricket captain has the blokes name as his given names. Can't believe dad had the bloke I'm after in mind when naming his son, though.
