I use Avast, and Malwarebytes, didn't prevent a bogus microsoft popup invading my computer and making it useless.

Antivirus ect cant do everything alone.
A lot of it is prevention by the user and good maintenance habits.
Also a lot of people freak out and think that their computer is ruined...But if you have access to another computer you can quite often research and find a solution and instructions to fix most infections ransom ware ect,saving your data.

Its like people who drive their cars without maintenance until it falls apart then complain that it was a crap car for falling apart and blame the maker.
I know people who when installing new programs dont bother reading anything and just click all the boxes ect and then wonder why the computer is full of crap they didnt want.

Dont mean to sound like im having at go you Mike70 just reminding people that installing antivirus isnt all there is to keeping their computers sorted theres more to it than that.
