G'Day Guy's,
Over the years I have posted about this crusher and honestly it's just taking up room in my shed, so it is time time to get it finished and sold as I won't get the chance to use it.

Now when I did have it working with that old 10hp Honda motor it did crush the rock nicely then the oil leak on the engine was too much for my shed so I had the idea of setting it up with that hydraulic motor I have here.

If a member is interested we can talk about how it's going to be powered as the cheapest option would be a new motor where going hydraulic will be the more expensive option.

When I can find some time after this weekend I will take a few pic's which will go along way.

So basically the fixed plate and movable plate are Bizalloy 500 and the grab tracks are welded on using TC16 welding rods. Now to get the reduction form the motor goes to a lay shaft then to a second lay shaft to the final drive where ratios can be changed using V-pulleys.

Regards Bryan

What region are you in Bryan?

G'Day Guy's,

Sorry to take so long and as I'm on my shed laptop had to reset my password, now here is a front view of the crusher showing the dual spherical bearing setup which is grease filled. Now I also put a grease nipple under so when greasing the old grease can be purged out once the nipple is taken off. Not the moveable jaw plate has a 10mm swing and can be removed easily when required.

That's a awful lot of work to leave unfinished. Wouldn't electric be a lot more versatile?

The problem I see with going electric is the horsepower needed to run the crusher and trying to start a 3hp single motor the current draw would be huge and more than likely still under rated. Next week I'm taking our old house batteries up to the scrapyard and I have seen shelves of petrol motors there and a few diesel engines too. So my idea is to get enough cabbage off the batteries to get a good swap on a decent 10hp electric start engine.

Now once I get that new engine I can get it going again so I can do a video of it working. That small magnetic lifter shown in the photo needs a angle bracket made so it can catch any metal going down the shute then when it needs to be cleaned just move the handle and take it off to clean.

Yes a heap of work has gone into making this crusher and off memory I did start this project back in the days when I repaired industrial gearbox's so around 2005-2008. Now this whole project was born off those 2 eccentric blocks I made which were for a plate wacker but I found a vintage leg rammer at a garage sale so it the jaw crusher idea came from there.
