I personally know nothing about the market for gemstones and crystals, but I figured that eBay is a big enough marketplace to provide some $ guidance:

eBay elestial quartz asking prices (highest first): http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_...=Elestial Quartz&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

eBay elestial quartz sold prices (highest first): http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_...lete=1&LH_Sold=1&rt=nc&_trksid=p2045573.m1684

Comparing the very different price ranges of the items in the two lists, it doesn't look like there's any demand for the big, expensive pieces!

Most average mineral collectors/people don't want large minerals because collecting them takes up too much room. Majority of collecters buy minerals around the 7cm to 10cm mark. This is why a lot of the large ones are cheaper depending on what type of mineral it is.

$900 for the first one is a pretty good price. Looks like it's in good condition also.

With my minerals though, I tend to only buy them when they are over 10cm in size. I like larger ones and have a fair bit of room for them.

Edit: Like the mineral in my avatar, it's around 28cm in size

Thanks Martin it is very nice.....hmmm

No problem.

Some collectors also just buy thumbnail specimens also, for example minerals that fit in 7x7x7cm or 5x5x5cm display cubes.

I only have a few hard to get minerals at that size. I personnaly just don't like minerals that are so small in detail you need to basically hold the specimen in your hand to have a decent look at it
