So let me get this right, you are losing nuggets out of your sluice, surely not?
Mackka

No Mackka, I sieve the gravel off after it comes out of the sluice so that it makes panning easier. Any nuggets big enough to get caught in the sieve end up in the gravel pile but I took them out to use the nicely washed gravel in the water feature.

Sorry Phil, i just thought that sluices were meant to capture the nuggets and the fines.
Mackka

I think Phil means the gravels that come out of the mats, not off the end of the launder?

OK, now that would make sense. I was looking up Goldrat here in Brissie and i thought why buy a sluice if its going to lose nuggets out the end.
Thanks Simmo.

Mackka, Simmo is correct. I empty the Dream Mat into a tub and then sieve the cons into a pan for the final clean up. The better sized nuggets are caught in the sieve along with the gravel. There's no point in trying to pan out the gravel and I don't see many nuggets because metal detectors have worked my ground for the last 40 years. I have a lot of ground spread over six leases so hopefully one day I'll come across some rich dirt but so far every patch has produced a consistent 1g - 2g an hour. At least I see gold every day that I run the machines.

I just received my Oraolo neckband headphones and the bluetooth connected straight up to the GPX6000 so tonight I might have to go looking for that hot spot :)

Well I took a run out just on dark and spent about two hours going over the ground near my dryblowing. The first little nugget came from about 5m from the edge of my lease so I was a little disappointed until I got four more in the direction I'm heading.

I swung the 14"DD on the 6000. Most likely a good choice because I was watching the lightening as a storm approached from the south. The 6000 didn't even know it was there and I was not switched to the EMI cancel option. The size of nuggets detected by a 14" coil continues to amaze me. I don't like this coil but on a flat paddock like this it helps cover a lot of ground quickly but pinpointing with it is difficult compared to the nice little 11" mono.

The Oraolo speakers worked well particularly once the wind came up gusty. If I'd have been using the original Minelab earphones I couldn't have worked in those conditions. I wore them on my shoulders riding the quad there and back at 60km/h and they sat in place nicely. The next test will be to see how well they work with the story book on my phone while I'm driving the loader. They connect to the phone ok so all looks good so far.

At first look of the last photo i thought fair enough pretty photo.

Then i see the speakers and saw the practicality.

Sorry boss you came second in that pageant.

I didn't feel like another day of repairs so I took a day off from the dryblower and went up to the minesite to collect some sand.

I'm hoping I don't run out before this project is done

I needed the render to adhere to the vertical surface so I added a heap of screws.

These Garrett Super Sluice pans are great for many a job, too.

I'm not the best at this job but I just want to get a cover on the surface that looks a bit more natural than plywood and plastic.

It could have been done a lot better but I'm happy with it... :)

It's the finished job that will no doubt please you MB.

I found it hard to keep up the pace with the concrete drying rapidly in the 42C heat and a stiff breeze of hot air. Each time I got back with a fresh pan the last one was drying off. I tried to sprinkle it with the hose but the fresh mix wouldn't stick to the wet surface. I just had to pile it on as soon as I could and settle for good enough. Once we get the fish in, some water flow and a few plants nobody is going to be looking at my concrete job.

stupid question , can i connect to 7 and 2300 somehow

I don't know if it's a stupid question but I don't understand it? :|

Oh I get it {) you mean the Oraolo speaker. You need a Bluetooth transmitter connected to your detector. The GPX6000 already has Bluetooth built in.
