I appreciate the support mad mike but we have no intention on introducing paid memberships at this time or in the near future.

You can always donate to the running of the site.
It causes me distress to see members complain that not enough time or tickets are available etc.
In the early days of Prospecting Australia Nugget paid for everything. He paid for hosting the site, gave away prizes he bought with his own money. Every cost came from Nugget's pocket. Members give aways... Nugget paid for the prizes.
As the site grew he started running raffles. Still he paid for the prizes and took the risk that all tickets would sell.

Everyone comments how well this forum is run and it's not like the others. That is because Nugget and the moderators work hard to keep it that way. All time is donated freely. Yet people constantly keep complaining that it's not the way they want it.

I'm sure that Nugget would be happy to sell 2000, 5000, 10000 raffle tickets to maintain a constant cash flow for running the forum.

End of rant.
Good luck to all who bought tickets.

Ramjet.

PS I bough ten tickets to help support this wonderful resource. If anyone feels they where cheated of the chance to be involved I will give them to you.

I can only speak for myself here ... I for one love the forum as it is! ... I have come across a lot of great people here -- especially people like Nugget! (thanks mate)

Yes I missed out this time, but my comments were not intended as any form of complaint (at worst, I'm a tad sad I missed it -- no neg intended towards anyone! :))

Looking forward to the next one. It's a great idea!

In the meantime, I donated a small amount, anyway :)

Cheers,
Dave

Perhaps 48 hours pre notice so those that have work commitments or frequent less often can still get involved. However it is always hard to please everyone, which I know is the intention. If you start putting this rule and that rule it looses its appeal. Either way appreciate the opportunity to be involved and support in a small way is a great idea. I have never given to forums in the past for paid memberships, after all a forum is designed to share ideas, and stories. Once you put separate sections here and there the forum can become disjointed. However as a raffle I had no hesitations at all funny how that seemed to make it different. Even though my chances are low it just seemed like a great idea. I am certainly looking forward to others whenever that may be.

Keep up the great work, and remember the KISS principle :p

Nugget can you put daves name down on 5 of my tickets please ,

Thanks for the sentiment Mike -- appreciated -- but here's an alternative idea ... If you happen to win a prize, then simply share it with me when we're in the field together in future :)

Honestly, that is enough for me ... Besides, even though I did fetch the pizza, you did pay for it ... so all is good!

I did'nt purchase the tickets in hope of winning.
I purchased these to support the forum.

I agree 48 hour notice might be the way to go.

Another option is to change the colour of the donate
button because until now did not release it was there.

Anyway nugget this is a good headache to have :)

The PayPal confirmation is the only confirmation provided. All purchases have been added to a list and names will soon be added to physical tickets. As they're added to the tickets they are marked off the list to ensure none are missed.

Thanks Nugget,

I wasn't sure, as my paypal account is registered to a different email address to my forums account, I got the paypal email but I wasn't sure if there was an email generated through the forums as well!

Thanks for clearing that up!

Very excited to be a part of this raffle as I missed out on the Christmas one :(

Cheers
Adam

Oh cool there's a raffle ! :D

Oh it's sold out ?

Bargarr

Lol

If I turn off the hindsight alarm on my time machine I could confidently predict you will be able to sell 2000 tickets in this one. ;)

Geez a fella goes away for a couple of days and all the tickets sell. Good luck everyone, great prizes Nugget.

Important Announcement.

Due to the overwhelming response and after much deliberation, I will be releasing a further 1000 tickets for our Easter Raffle AND increasing the prize pool to $2900. This means that all existing tickets and newly purchased tickets will go into the draw to WIN 1 of 3 Minelab X-TERRA 705 Gold Pack Metal Detectors as well as the runner up prizes.

The second wave of tickets will go on sale @ 6PM Tuesday 18th March and will be sold on a first in first served basis. Once these tickets have sold out there will be NO further tickets released for this Raffle.

New Rule: Only one (1) major prize may be won per entrant, however major prize winners are also eligible to win additional runner up prizes.

Cheers,
Nugget

I'm hoping the second release of tickets and additional prizes will turn some of those frowns up side down :)

Yes there was a couple of dummy spits ;)

Understandably so, I thought tickets would have lasted at least 2-3 days but selling out in under 7 hours is crazy. Anyway moving forward and we now know what changes are required for the next one.
