The die of the heads side wasn't lined up with the die of the tails side properly. If you spin the coin around when holding it upright and the head not up the correct way too then its an upset coin. This is a 2001 federation upset coin shown.

But these are the ones you want to watch out for.

Year 2000 $1 Mule coin. With this coin the head side has been stamped using a 10 cent head stamp instead of the dollar stamp.
You can tell them by the double ring around the head side of the coin. I found these 2 last year and apparently one in mint condition sold on Ebay for almost 15K.

I refilled with some fuel today at the server and was handed a 1966, 20 cent coin. It was very dirty looking and old. I showed it to a mate that told me it could possibly have some value, so I instantly googled on the phone. It was annoying to discover that it was not something special, but I did not know about the 'wavy' 20 cent coin until that day. Many more people know what I am talking about? I wish it was one of them but oh well...

Interesting. I did not know of the 'wavy" 20 cent coin either. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to keep my eye out for them.

Thanks since seeing this I told my work buddy's he found One . Took it to a coin man and the man was very unhappy he been searching for years

I seen it , after this post he took it home to the wife her money told her off the find.
(agreement happened) he put it back in here coins her coins, Now 3 months later she took all coin to bank mount Isa , so the wavey 20 cent is now there .

Just went through my coins with 9 1966 20 cent pieces with no wavy ones - oh well
But I did come across a 1967 with a clear error on the bottom of the 2. Has anyone heard or seen one of these before I cannot find any info on it anywhere, hopefully the photo is better than my explanation. Any help on ID would be awesome

Had a quick look on Google GZ and didn't see any at all with that anomaly on the base side of the two.
Should look like this on the base of the two on the 1967 20c.

I couldn't find anything at all either but thanks for looking, It should indeed all my others look like the pic you posted.
Do you know if errors like this give it any worth above the obvious 20c? Its no wavy 66 but unique enough

LOL got the old coin jar out, 2x 1966 2c coins but all had the initials, any other rare coins? That was fun
