Good post there Sandra. I feel sorry for you over the next couple of months but the new hip will be a god send and nothing will hold you back then. We hope to catch up with you sometime in the near future.

Cheers

Doug and Carol

Thankyou. We tried to get out to you before now but this pre-op and op were arranged in a single phone call out of the blue and we didn't have time. Will see you in a little while, though.

Sandra, love your post. And love the pictures and good yellow too.yes health issues can be a real nuisance and a real kick in the butt. But even still with the mind you still get aroundit some way so you can do the things you love. Its called positive thinking.. just making the best of a bad situation. Good luck and hope you get your hip sorted out soon with a good outcome.

Wow what a great spur of the moment suggestion to cure bordem that was Sandra :Y: congratulations to you both on the finds. All the best with your new hip Sandra I can't wait to hear of your next instalment from this location, very exciting :perfect:

The Camp meet-up in Amherst has started off on the right foot. On the way to camp to meet with Limpalot I pulled over to swing over a spot across the Track from a spot that has given up quite a few grams. Lo and behold I rescued an 8.7 grammer out of the side of an old timers hole. It was hiding under an old, rusted can. Only about 5 inches in the sidewalk.
I think we'll have a group detect here Saturday morning.

After panning pan after pan, i decided to try my luck with my minelab xt17000, using the 6 inch gold seeker coil. After a while I picked up a signal and found this about 5 inches down behind a bedrock drop off.

going to use the detector a bit more now. It was a good feeling finding my first detectable bit of gold. The animals in the bush around me certainly new. Lol. Here's to many more.

That is a nice piece Pat, I have spent about an hour in that spot and only added to my trash collection. Hope you get plenty more there mate.

Hey Bluecurrant.

Whats an alluvial gold prospector doing posting in the detector section? Good to see mate. May there be many more. Now that youve found your first bit with a detector, youll mortgage the house and feed the kids on bread and dripping so that you can spend all your money on electronics and a thousand coils like the rest of the mob who wander around aimlessly like zombies in a horror movie. Lol.

Cheers

Les

Nice pick up there Patrick, heaps of junk in some of those old holes, good to see such a nice piece.

And Bluecurrent, welcome to the electronic side, my preference is detecting, switch to your side (panning) for some variety. Nice 1st up piece.

Cheers T.

I only took the detector out after coming of the bike in a race a while back, so i didnt want to upset the back by panning for hours. I didn't realise how far from the bike i walked and how the hours past by and how many red belly snakes i walked over. Bit more keen on detecting from now on. I had actually walked over this spot for the past couple of years, thinking nah not worth digging. But now I will go back over the creek from scratch. Sorry I didn't get down your way Les. Hopefully ill get down your way this year. Your right teemor my mate reckons iv changed already.

Well done Bluecurrant :Y: sure is a great feeling seeing that 1st piece in your hand :Y:

And to you also Patrick1 top effort mate with the pb :Y: don't be too concerned about what Bjay says he's just taking advantage of his bragging rights :playful:
