Nugget I've noticed your avatar shooting a bow are you a keen bow hunter I've been a bow hunter for the last 35 years sorry to get off topic I've been meaning to ask for ages cheers Muk.

The speccie that I found last weekend (GT) has had a wash. No SG done yet, but with total weight 0.51g, I'm guessing around 0.3g Au.
I always look for gold associated with shitty looking, highly mineralised and mouse eaten quartz with ironstone (at least in the GT), but how's this for white?

And the back - like a clip on bra?

It throws out my thinking a bit.

Well done BigWave. Wow, this is an awesome looking piece. One of the best looking bits Ive seen. Thanks for sharing it. Nice sitting at home looking at the yellow bits others find. Its almost as much fun as finding it yourself (I did say ALMOST) This ones a real keeper. Love the clean white quartz contrasting the bright yellow gold. Keep swinging and clicking.

Cheers

Les

Great speccie BW....I have a molar looks just the same!!

Thanks Les, yes it's a looker (but very small - so needed the USB microscope to photo it properly).
You've been scoring well also it seems.
I keep all my finds in nice collection display cases.
My kids will inherit one day (to me it's a hobby), but till then they look great mustered.
Still to break the bloody 10g barrier though

Nice work as always mate.

Nice ones 22shells :Y:
When I find a speccie on quartz but muddied with ironstone, I tend to give them an etch as I think it makes the gold show better on the quartz.
I reckon that the one on the right would show up beautifully, although others like to leave them in their natural state.
Some crush them, but that's tantamount to murder

I chase gold for its beauty so I like to see every bit I can so I say etch away. Just not too far though which I've done before

Yeah good idea Big Wave, I take it you mean using acid. I've used acid on nuggets with ironstone before, but not really on speccies much for some reason- I guess because it won't get the quartz off anyway. But one like that with ironstone it could do a good job. That one's just as it was straight out of the ground with the dirt scrubbed off with a toothbrush and water.

Amazing!!!!
At last after almost 2 years of detecting got myself a 1.88 gramer !!!
Went to Maryborough and initially had a bit of trouble with the EMI ? lightening somewhere and the GPX 5000 was unhappy!

Thought it was a piece of trash as it was strong signal only bout 8 cm deep. I couldn't believe it!
Was using an Elite 14 coil.on the 5000.
