Here area few more interesting rocks/minerals from my collection for anyone interested:
First up is another specimen from the Australian industrial minerals quarry, found at the same location as the Damourite. The operator hit a thin hydrothermal vein and spread the marterial over the ground for us to pick through. This example is mainly Sillaminate/fine damourite, with a nice haematite or similar coating on the face, with a beautiful multi-coloured tarnish to it (not copper related).
Here is a nice little example of some Molybenite in quartz, not sure of the locality as it was passed on from my pop many years ago.
I found this specimen of Ilmenite (Iron titanium oxide) outcropping in a pegmatite on a beach near Normanville, south of Adelaide.
This one is a nice specimen of Tigers Eye (silicified blue asbestos) from the Pilbara when I used to work in Newman at Whaleback. My brother knew of a location at a road cutting north of Newman for aquiring this example.
This one is a beauty, I actually bought this in WA for my collection, a real nice chunky specimen of native copper, and it's heavy.
Lastly, this one is a bit of a rarity, obtained from an ironstone/quartz outcrop in the Tanami Desert, it is made up of rare Chenevixite (copper arsenate), Chrysocolla (copper silicate), and some small patches of Malachite.
