Thanks MDV for sharing your photos! I have learnt a bit from the conversation that followed.
I also think it is funny what some people are calling 'a little bit' of gold..... Would be over the moon to get as much in my pan!
Love the Show and tell thread :cool:

About 1 hr sampling in a stream behind my sisters place' looks like I'll be back in there!!!

lol' im good at making gold look good in photo's!
The sister has about 20m of creek at the back of there 20ac house block at beechworth, so some' (not all) of the crevices in the bedrock section don't look like they have ever been touched' trust me I'll be back there! Once the weather breaks.

Zuke..

Looks good for an hours work.....
I would be setting up camp for a couple of weeks lol....
Great colours thanks for posting...

Turbopan is great bit tricky for clean up though. It's all fairly course gold too.
No kidding is bloody useless for cleaning up. Nice showing though mate, keep any bloke keen I'm sure.

Thanks GT I just pan down till its just black sand and some dirt and sand then just stick it all in a container and finish off when I get home got another pan on the way for clean up. The black sand at this spot was out of control haha

nice fine stuff there mate great recovery

Thanks mate. Was using an AM Grubbstake. No doubt these things catch the fine stuff. Still not sure if I'm using it 100% correctly, but I seem to be having decent enough results.

Great going POG, making me want to get out again to look for some myself.
I love seeing these pic's and results you guys post, great incentive to try and get out again soon.

Thanks :D

@ProspectorPete
Too right. This is always my first port of call whenever I hit the forum. Love seeing what everyone's finding. And yea, if a thread like this doesn't motivate you to get out there, I don't know what will.

@yobskin
The two things I guess I'm not sure about it how often to clean it out and how fast to feed it. Being new and keen I usually put one bucket through it and then clean it out immediately. I assume that's probably not necessary unless there's an unheard of amount of black sands. But I still feel like I need to do it. So that certainly wouldn't be loosing me and gold, but still it would be nice to put in the optimal amount of work rather than doing more than I need to.

To anyone else familiar with the Grubbstake or similar AM sluice, when SHOULD I clean up? The place I went on the weekend had lots of black sands. The first riffle would fill up half way through one bucket. This made me nervous, but I told myself the second riffle would just act as the first riffle now. I assume that's correct. But when should I stop and clean? When the first few riffles are full? When they're all full? Any help would be much appreciated.

Might make a quick video next time I'm out sluicing and post it for all to see. Maybe then I can get some pointers on how fast to feed it.

Thanks again everyone.
