If anyone is wanting to make there own Blacksmith tongs, I have some laser cut blanks to make it easier.

I have 6mm thick (light duty) $20 per set plus postage and 10mm thick (heavy duty) $30 per set plus postage

Do you have blanks for v-bit tongs that hold 6mm rod, ans blanks for railroad spike tongs?

I get them Laser cut in town here, you will need to send me a message for more details, or find me on FB, it's over a year ago since I had them cut, they probably still have the file templates etc

The ones for the railraod spikes are made from the same material as the ones for the 6mm round stock you just have to adjust and split the flat part of the jaws to hold the size stock you want.

any of the tongs dave has mentioned can easily be made into v bit tongs to hold many sizes of material
round ,square, hex it is just a matter of putting a split in the bit and forging it to the size required

the blanks are sold like that so you can forge what size you wish and are cheaper than buying finished tongs ,plus the added bonus of up skilling your skills

if you wish a pair of railroad tongs to hold the head of the spikes for forging things like steak turners
and ,BBq forks or egg flippers then it is best to make your own as there is a few sizes in railway spikes

I think the poster is looking for railway spike tongs dave that hold the head of the spike not the shaft dave
like that dodgy dan pair i made a while ago:rolleyes: :oops:for a order of steak flippers that came in
