Today I made up a set of 16" (410mm) long x 10mm thick bolt jaw blacksmith tongs, they hoe round bar from 6mm upto 12mm comfortably putting this material in and out of the forge to be hammered to whatever shape you want.
I had the tong blanks laser cut to make it much easier to make them, just had to split the V in the jaws and hammer the handles (reins) a bit to get them a bit round, drill a hole for the rivet and job done
