I have just had my faith in humanity restored. After the council told us that we are on the list to hsve the trees removed, a bloke pulls up on a Flattail Harley and asks do i need a hand cutting up those trees, i said no thanks but thanks for the offer as i stood there with my trusty bushmans saw. We talked about his bike and i said goodbye. Hour later he returns with his chainsaw and says to me, I knew you were lying, started the saw and within an hour both trees are cut up and neatly stacked ready for council to pick up. He was a man mountain of a young bloke and said he couldn’t get to the gym this morning so the workout was a good substitute. When finished I said I don’t know how much i appreciated his help, he just turned to me shook my hand and said , you just did. Then walked away. True story. Mackka

I can certainly appreciate the frustration that being unable to communicate or check state or local authorities dashboards thru lack of power and of course the cellular network or nbn. I’m not sure what the answer is as even many of the radio broadcasters may also have had issues with power outages or lack of generators.

It certainly goes to show how dependent we have all become on information, power and technologies.

Bloody idiots and their parents deserve a thrashing.
I know where your at Mackka,
If just one section of sand approx 2 meters wide falls down it would be like 3 tonne over them.
It would take longer than a breath to dig`em out.
Just been done the beach myself there`s around a 2 km stretch of weed on the bank 4 feet high.
The amount of plastic rubbish is unbelievable most of which the drink bottles has a QLD sticker them. ;)
Bloody Tourists.

We lost power 11.36 pm on Friday, small branch took out our lead in cable, energex turned up next day and made safe by totally removing leadin. Now camped in caravan, for convenience until sparky cam obtain and replace insulating cover on hockey stick, p otentially 2 more days if energex return in a timely manner to run new leadin. Decided I need some RnR, so off to goldcoast beaches tomorrow
As I suggested, went to GC for a detect, got down to beach and promptly tripped over my own feet and broke both ears off the coil...... realised I didn't have my alternate 15" coil, so headed home..... a wasted trip :( Called into Goldrat on way home and Bob, sold me bits to repair coil :) Thanks Bob, it worked well.

So next day headed down to GC again. Results for an hours work before I had to head home........ earliest date on coin's that I can deciper is 2000 on the 10c coin. Had to laugh this morning, before first coffee, went to put coins in tumbler for a quick clean and deerrrr......NO POWER.... forgot, still waiting for Energex to run the new leadin cable.

Posted a letter to Council regarding rubbish & plastic on the beach.
The Quickest Response i have ever had from them.
The Reply Below XXXX.

Thank you for reaching out regarding the seaweed and plastic debris accumulation at Hungry Head and the Third Headland. We appreciate your concern for the environment and the well-being of marine life.

Council staff will be attending the site today to assess the extent of the issue. As this area falls under Crown Lands jurisdiction, with Wenonah Headland being land council land, any cleanup efforts would require coordination with both Crown Lands and the local land council.

Importantly, Council is not the agency directly responsible for beach cleanups following flooding events. However, we will explore potential options. This includes engaging with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) to determine if any assistance can be provided.

We appreciate your proactive approach in bringing this to our attention. Should any further updates become available, we will keep you informed.

Best regards,
General Manager - Acting
