Hit a park today that I've had a little go at before with the Aldi and scored a few Penny's, well I thought I'd head back there today for a go with the CTX, it's right next to power lines and the CTX didn't want to go any higher than 10 on auto sensitivity. Anyway it didn't matter just had to go low and slow to counter it.

Was my best day on the florins so far, scored 5 and 2 shillings within the first 15 minutes, there was a spill of 3 florins and a shilling in 1 hole and 2 florins and a shilling in another and then a sixpence and threepence in the other hole. Also scored 6 penny's and 2 half penny's. $29.45 in moderns and galaxy world token too. Will be heading back to this spot again soon as I've only done about 5% of it so far. Looking good for future hunts there.

From the type of stuff I found there it looks like a virgin spot to me. I've got the silvers soaking in a CAB, will post more pics when they are clean.

Wow, what a spot, congrats on all those silvers. Always a great feeling to locate a virgin patch of ground, looks like there will be a lot more coins pulled from that spot over the next few weeks, nice work. ;)

Cheers GP, very happy I decided to try there again, was a last minute decision as the spot I was going to do had cricketers everywhere, sometimes things just work out for the best. :)

Full house too ,.. top form ,... hat's off Heatho. :p :D 8)

Hell yeah, it is too, cheers Silver. :D Couldn't believe it when 3 florries came out of 1 hole and then a shilling as well, I nearly fainted too.

Do I gather from all this that if Aldi sell a detector again that it could be worth getting to at least start collecting coinage? I'd be happy enough finding morderns (certainly as it would seem if you go to the right spots you could end up paying for the detector itself after some time) and it would be nice to start getting used to swinging a detector... then if I can eventually upgrade the kids will have a detector that they can use while I get more serious ;)

Love those predecimal coins and other finds... Well done!

Cheers mate.

Certainly would Blennus, the Aldi's work quite well, they are not made very well though but they are very cheap and will definitely give you a decent start.

Check out the finds in my Aldi thread, it pretty much paid for my CTX.
