G'Day Heatho,
Many thanks for your in-depth reply, as you mentioned the 7000 may give me a leg-up to the 3030 and its menus.
As I mentioned in my post, we are only a few minutes from three beaches and three parks, so plenty of real estate to swing over, literally in walking distance.
The GPZ7000 is a great machine with the potential to be even better with new up-grades and the large 20 inch coil when it eventuates; I had a quick trip a couple of weeks back and came home with just over an ounce troy which was a great result and put me over the line so to speak in terms of the 7000 paying for itself in just under twelve months.
Back to the CTX 3030; I will more than likely purchase one in the near future, you're valued feedback further convinced me to go down the 3030 track and become involved in the treasure/relic side of detecting, the better half also has an interest in the artefacts that may be lurking in the vicinity of the old gold fields.
Heatho, if you make it up this way give me a PM and we will organise a meet-up and have a swing.
Cheers, SinHOF.
PS: Did you finish up finding any colour on the location that Reddirt Digger and self met up with you; the heavy rain put a premature end to our detecting on the Tuesday morning, one small flat nugget was our collective effort for our time there.

No problem at all. Sounds like you have some decent areas to detect Sinhof and will hopefully do well there, will be perfect for relics on the goldfields also as it has a pretty good ground balance and also has a mineralised ground settings.

Well done on paying off the GPZ, that's great news and what way to do it with a full ounce. :)

Found no colour that week at all. Really put a big effort in too, was the first time I found nothing in that spot. At least you fella's got one. I think the wet on top and dry as a bone ground half an inch down was playing havoc with the detectors those 2 days. I don't think detectors perform well in ground when it's like that maybe??

If I'm ever up the coast it would be great to have a swing with the CTX's, will send you a PM for sure. Same with you, if you're ever in the Manly area let me know too, plenty of decent spots around here.

All the best with the CTX purchase, keen to see what you find with it. It will certainly keep you happy between gold trips.

Hi Heatho,
Buying a 3030 is starting to look very attractive for the reasons you have mentioned et al; the large coil for the 7000 is also on my bucket list of purchases, hopefully it will be announced soon by Minelab.
Thanks again.
Cheers, SinHof.

Would be great if they release that 20" coil for the Zed soon, I know a lot of you Zed owners have been waiting for it.

If you buy the 3030 and learn all the functions it will serve you well, hopefully it keeps you happy in between gold trips. :)

Hit the same big sportsfield I've been detecting for months and got a 1954 royal visit commemorative Florin today, was pretty stoked when it came out of the hole, couple of Penny's and a Half Penny too.

I bet you would have done some air guitar over that florin

And the goldies keep flowing as well - should be a couple of years left in that field :D

Ive only scored one of those before,.. makes you feel great hey ! Probanly some littlie carying it around because it was different,.... very next thing you know, it's in your hands Heatho. :D

Was pretty happy with it, only 2 million minted but not very rare though. Still a good find worthy of a happy dance. :)

Yep amazing someone can drop something like that and 60 years later it's mine. We are but costodians of these treasures, we can never own such things. :D

Bloody hell, you could make a living out of this park mate. Very Nice.

Cheers GW, almost could hey, it's paid pretty well. I know others have detected it too, I keep wondering what they got from it??? :)

Hit a spot today where I found a couple of Penny's with the Aldi, was hoping for a few Silvers but no luck in that department, found $18.80 though in moderns. They were pretty much under the only shaded area on the whole oval, would not have found them without my custom goldies program either as was absolutely cluttered with trash.

The goldies discrimination pattern with "fast" set to on and "high trash" target separation enabled is deadly on goldies in situations like this.

It's a pretty useless spot for detecting to be honest, I know it's been hit hard in the past and the soil is very dry and sandy, pretty much impossible to remove deep targets without making a mess as the soil just continually caves in.

Few pics of the view from this location also.
