Hey all,
Did anyone see the long tom they used in the Yukon Gold TV Show last night? (A Foxtel show)

Watching their cleanup was pretty cool, especially that one bloke who had so many of the vortexes filled with gold. Guess it is sort of like the matts that @GoldDigg has, not 100% sure though. But it was interesting watching the whole setup in action.

Here is a link to some more pics and stuff (they did not use the bottom pics, just the top ones).

I saw a guy with one of these at Oallen once , it was over 300mm wide, maybe almost 2m long , it is made from aluminium , the vortexes were holes in solid bar, with a spiralling threadlike pattern, it looked impressive , I enquired as to cost and was told it cost $2500 to get it into the country - a lot of money for a better ??mousetrap in my opinion.

The $750 Canadian one seems a bit cheaper, but $2500 for the one Bazza mentioned, far out!

This is the first time I have seen one in action with all the gold in the vortexes. Mind you the guys in the show have pretty big set ups and I guess have a big cleanup. It's always interesting to see what is around.

Thanks slucingoose! Might have to go and track down that 4kg nugget's twin to pay for it!

I wonder how well fibreglass would hold up in a highbanker. If you made a mould it would be a fairly simple process to make multiple copies.
