had to laugh yesterday .

i had a bucket of dirt sitting here that we cleaned off a customers earthmoving machine a couple of weeks ago before doing a repair.

just for the hell of it i put half a bucket through my sluice and came up with a few good sized specs .

pity i already put the other half of the bucket in my industrial bin last week 8.(

Yes i know where the machine had been working before we cleaned it down but it was a spot 70 metres underground that none of us can get to so save your breath :p

"lost opportunities" A few years ago my hubby was with a earthmoving company in Queensland, I bet some of the dig sites had some gold for the taking.....one of these days I am going to find some of that gold lying around......Cheers Debra

My father worked in the forestry for many years during the 60's and 70's and one of the stories that was told was of timber cutters cutting pine and shooting them down the hill where a dozer would snig them out to the log dumps were they trucked to the sawmill. At the sawmill some one would check the end of the logs, all logs had a numbered and the log size stamped on it. One day when checking the end of the logs the sawmill worker got a surprise, a small nugget embedded in the log. With the log number you can trace the log back to the stump so he done this and surprise, surprise, not another speck to be found.

Hunt down tv series "Goldfathers" from the US.
One fella goes to his mates rock gravel yard that he crushes material for building roads in Alaska.
Asks old mate if he can run some of the material from the trommel through a sluice box and low and behold a good percentage of gold per tonnage.
Roads in Alaska have been literally paved with gold.

That's a little ripper of a story though Mark! Always the last place you look.

I have heaps of ladders, a good jackhammer, shovels and plenty of time if you ever think of going back for the rest and need help. Hahaha! :D

Cheers,
Shauno.

mate you would be welcome to come for a dig but the location now has 10 inches of concrete and 4 inches of asphalt covering it up and i dont know which part of the (long) highway tunnel the gold was from.

we just have to keep our minds open to recognise other opportunities when it comes our way
