I have mentioned this before but my Uncle picked up a nugget a few years
back when they were digging up the pavement in front of the Post Office.
About the size of a 20 cent piece.

Beside the bridge at Golden Square there is an access track made from
the tailing,s of the North Shannadoh Rise.
It was not uncommon to pick up a small bit there in years gone by.

Are you talking about the old red brick bridge which went over the rail line near Oak St, my grandparents on mums side were on the corner of Oak and Panton from memory

On dads side they were on the corner of Panton and Fir and I seem to recall another bridge over the rail line just up from their place as well.

My Grandmothers house was where the motel is opposite
the fire station.
They pulled it down to build the motel.
You can still see the old driveway.
Small world isn't it. O

Well it is a very small world. My mum and grandparents were a couple of houses away in the 30s. And moved to booth street in 40s. My Uncle had the butchers shop over the road.

My uncle and my grandfather on my mums side were both butchers in Bendigo' I think the shop was at Eaglehawk, need to check it out with mum. Wild was the family name.

Or, The one over the bridge just up from the shop. ?

What no one takes into account is that without a miners right it belongs to the government so she may not have it very long
