It was 0.6*c here at about 5;30 this morning, The higher the Air pressure the clearer the sky and the colder it gets. Some places over the weekend already got down to -6 to -7*c and these are the first cold temps we have seen, The record over here was -27.2*c In December 1995, In March 1986 they recorded winds of 278kph and on the 19th of December 2008 someone recorded winds of 312kph up in the Cairngorm Mountains, Up there the weather can change from one hour to the next.

Funny you bring this up. Dad just commented they had their first frosts last week which is unusually late. It's not unknown to have snow on the ground from October to April where they are on the South side of the Cairngorms. I remember 1982 where it also reached -27*C. Freaking cold. I also remember a few times as a kid being cut off by snow for up to three weeks which meant no school. Yipee!!! After school I cut timber for a living. And if it had snowed the night before the snow would settle on the limbs until you started felling. Every tree guaranteed a mega dumping as Kg's of snow fell off those limbs. Nah! I don't miss any of that.
Tummel bridge, not far from my parents had a 29*C in a 24hr period. None of it hot.
