Looks like winter time is here again, it got down to 3 or 4*c here last night and my Weather doodad says it's going to be -1*c by the weekend, I have been stocking up the food reserves so I don't have to go out that often,, Huge Coffee reserves and masses of tinned Chunky Soup are the last resort fare, Winter seems to have come late this year which normally means there will be some short bad spells where the temps drop unexpectedly or we get a heap of snow.

I enjoy the cold of winter, As long as you wear the right gear life is good,

John.

Gday Gilly47,
I believe John moved over to England a number of years ago to take up "Morris Dancing," but some how got a little more than distracted with his relic and treasure hunting.
But as far as l can work out he is as Aussie as they come.
Cheers Steve ;)

ps: gday John , at the moment your getting similar temps as we are here in Ballarat.
Its going to get down to 1c tonight.
Enjoy life, its well worth it :D

It's back up to max of 14*c today and down to 8*c min, this is the only country I know where you can get all 4 seasons in a day. back a couple of years ago I was at work at the start of Summer and we had 2" of Snow and within an Hour it had melted and the Sun came back out  :( . from Sunday its down to 0*c and in a week it's back up to 15*c max and 10*c min.

I'm in sunny Lithgow NSW and for the last few nights I have had the fire going, was down as low as 3 or 4C, pretty weird for November, I think it's Wednesday of the coming week its predicted to go as low as 4C overnight again. I was planning to take the swags out this weekend, go on a bit of an adventure down Oberon-Trunkey Creek way or up Sunny Corner-Turon river etc. Of course rain is predicted all weekend and the overnights are a bit low for this time of the year!

Bahahaa,
I nearly said you went detecting whilst Morris Dancing John.
Then you post a photo of it.
BRILLIANT mate. :Y:

I am in Darwin ATM and feeling the local warmth,, such a tropical park at Howard Springs

Hey Gilly, go and feed the barra at the Howard Springs swimming hole. Get there early in the morning before the swimmers arrive and you can hand feed them. Just don't lose your arm.

Cheers

Doug

Yeh Ray, it's actually a proper spring fed swimming hole run by the NT National Park Rangers. There are about a dozen barra in there up to about 1.3metres long. The big one has a tendency to swallow your arm if you aren't quick enough to let go of the food.

No crocs in there.

Cheers

Doug

It was 0.6*c here at about 5;30 this morning, The higher the Air pressure the clearer the sky and the colder it gets. Some places over the weekend already got down to -6 to -7*c and these are the first cold temps we have seen, The record over here was -27.2*c In December 1995, In March 1986 they recorded winds of 278kph and on the 19th of December 2008 someone recorded winds of 312kph up in the Cairngorm Mountains, Up there the weather can change from one hour to the next.
