Here's an ornate necklace type three sided seal I found in about 1982. I got a beep, looked down, and it was lying on the surface amongst the leaf litter. The triangular piece in the centre still rotates. The seals words are, Am I welcome. Forget me not. Tho absent, ever dear. wiley.

Sandta. You could be right. That makes it more special to me, as it's a one off, and someone spent a long time making it. Maybe they were too poor to buy a gold one. wiley.

What ever the ring is wiley it's a ripper find :perfect: along with your other show n tell :Y:

Research goes both ways and sometimes in a bigger way after you reveal a target  very interesting piece.

Thanks RM. It's great to find rings etc, but here's one that causes me a bit of concern each time I look at it, as to why and how, did it end up where I found it. I was out the back of Kingower in a very isolated area, patch hunting. I was half lost heading back to where I thought my car was, detecting as I went, when I got a loud beep, scratched the surface with my pick, which revealed the clasp of a small childs purse and the ring. I had a quick detect of the area, then kept walking to where I hoped the car was, found the car and went home. Was it just a case of a child losing her purse and ring, or was it a case of a lost child, who may never have been found. If it was back in the gold rush she would have been in deep trouble, as it is so isolated there, even now. The nearest diggings are about 3ks away, and no proper roads nearby, only tracks. wiley.

Silver. That better coin must have got lost soon after it got to Oz. The others have had a harder life. wiley.

Wiley check the 1879 to see if you have a B over R in Gratia can be worth quite a tidy sum in any condition. ;)

Can't see anything there deepblue. It's a bit worn, and, has a dark area exactly above the R. Maybe your trained eye can see more than mine. It was certainly worth a try, so, thanks very much for your help. wiley.
