A question for the more knowledgeable than I, why wasn't Sunil Gavaskar invited to the podium with Border at yesterday's presentation? He was on the ground. Mackka
I'm guessing here, but could it be because he was there as member of the ABC's radio commentary team and not affiliated with Channel 7's TV presentation?

My guess would be if India had won the series, Gavaskar would have presented the trophy and Border would have been excluded.

A bit like the AFL premiership cup, paraded by opposing team legends but presented by the winning teams legend.

Watching Channel 7 Brisbane news last night and in the breaking news was petrol is due to go up by 50cents per litre and nothing was said in the news and nothing since. Anyone heard what is going on?

Yesterday we saw people with mortgages get a very small windfall from the RBA if the banks pass on the full 25 basis points to loaners, yea! to those with mortgages well almost.
Today in Brissie petrol prices have gone up by 45-50cents/ litre for E10 and nearly 70 cents per litre for others except diesel which is at $1.97. So there win in one hand is taken more so with the other and they will be worse off than before.

Obviously a bit of illegal price fixing going on there. The fuel in the ground has already been paid for at the lower rate. They should only put the price up on the next tanker load if it comes at the higher price and then there's no way all will get their fuel on the same day.

The oil price has been fairly soft lately and after a a bit of a rise early February which saw fuel prices rise around 10-15 cents our prices have come back a bit now, I paid $1.71 for diesel at Victor Harbor yesterday and got the 6 cent BP discount from carsales.com. which is a bonus.

Qld is just a ripoff for everything and has been for year when the migration explosion from other states started. I was just talking to my BIL whom is on a caravan trip in coastal Victoria with 20 other couples and he said he was parked by a river and thought he would throw a line in. I asked if he needed a license? I looked it up and in Victoria, NSW etc once you reach 70 no licence required but here in Qld it doesn't matter how old you are you still need a licence but you get a Discount for Seniors so it comes down to about $42 a year. Car Rego only one person in a family gets a concession. It's just a continuous beat up on the retirees and general public. Whatever you do, don't come up here and expect cost of living to be easier cause it ain't.

happens all the time up here phill ,who flung dung overseas farts and our fuel will go up by 10c litre overnight and stay like that or rise even further for 2 or three months
when the wallaville fuel depot was open before the bruce highway bypass, fuel there was on average 10c to 15 c a litre cheaper than bundaberg
i used to travel over there with 4- 200 litre drums to buy the fuel for the fortnight for the farming, a good saving for a 40 minute drive

Just a thought to drop in with the crew to have a whinge.
One of my simple joys in life was to reverse my vehicle up against a waters edge.
Set up my fishing rod and chill out in the back ute waiting for a bite.
Now nearly everywhere i go councils are placing log or rock barriers blocking river and water access.
Councils have plenty of spare doe for BS barricades but struggle to maintain pot holes on roads.
What next beach side parking meters with a maximum swim time of 30 minutes.
These ******s in Council Chambers need to wake up and prioritize on what are the real essentials are regarding public needs.

Those "BS barricades" may be there for a good reason:
