On This Day In 1966, Australia switched to decimal currency 
To the tune of Click goes the Shears with Mr. Dollar. Mum gave me a shilling so i good get the new currency on that day. I got a 5 cent, two 2 cents and a 1 cent. If you had a sixpence to exchange you got ripped off by 1 cent in the exchange. Been getting ripped off ever since
Yesterday was also a very important date in the history books. 14th February 1779 to be precise, Capt. James Cook was murdered by the Hawaiians for touching their chief. No one was allowed to touch the Chief and unfortunately for Jimmy he found out the hard way with his life.

On This Day In 2011, an earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand, killed more than 180 people and injured thousands more. R.I.P.
