This reminds me of my stealthbanker :lol: Nice and quiet but efficient.

They had a lot of trouble in the beginning with these bikes. they draw lots of amps and the motors would become a ball of plasma at the end of the quarter.

The specs on the machine are mind-bending. It is similar in size to a Top Fuel bike but is over 200 pounds heavier. With peak output of 3910 amps and 320 volts, the total power is over 1.25 million watts.

Getting on the bike is like stepping into a powerplant, said McBride. It is eerie to ride it. I can hit the throttle, say Bye! and you could hear me.

The 320-pound motor has 1500 horsepower available to it. There is no transmission or clutch - it is a one-speed, direct-drive powertrain.

This is the same motor that powers a 40,000 pound float, said Lawless. As you can guess with the problems we are facing are the weight of the bike and the available traction given the power of the motor.

I know what you mean Headsup. Also\did the reasearch on this a while back. I just cant get over the limited range the available batteries output in relation to weight/size and cost. Ultracapacitors look like the way
I've still got my eyes on building one though even with primitive tech. Its gotta be a fun project.

I've still got my eyes on building one though even with primitive tech. Its gotta be a fun project.

I designed one in full in 2008 but the TS LiFePo4 batteries costing $ 18,000 at the time for a 250 km range turned me off it
My design is high efficiency AC drive with regenerative braking and a few original innovations
When the $AUD was at its peak the battery pack would have been down to $11,000 but you still have to add $ 3600 for battery management systems not including charger , and logic inputs / interfaces.
Very appealing as a concept but the maths doesnt stack up at the end of the day for one off builds , volume builds of 30 - 100 vehicles could make for a successful enterprise but risk factor puts its head in the door when the best battery for power/weight/price is chinese made LiFePo4 - which unfortunately didnt yet reach a satisfactory level of consumer - foolproofness and reliability. ( you cant sell cars to citizens if they have batteries that require a technician's intellect to monitor their charge condition )

If anything could bring a man to tears then one of the worlds best ever breakthroughs in electric vehicles - that never was , is below

the electric motor was good for 250 kilowatts (150 kW rating) & 520 Nm of torque in a weight of 40 kg

thats equal to a V8 on full noise 8)

The design should have been licenced to every car maker in the world and could have sold more units than apple sold Iphones but instead it was sold off to a company somewhere in Oz under "wtf" circumstances that have me scratching my head in suspicious befuddlement

mine would be a collection of E49 charger, VH Valiant Pacer, XU1 torana, and ill throw in a GTHO Phase 3 only because ill need at least one crap car in there ;)
