What's in the bag.

Pulled out an old finds bag from yesteryear to see what was inside.

Nothing was wrapped, so last time I looked I just threw it back in(obviously).

here is everything from the bag.

2 old lighters.

4 rings.

And there was another ring under the other stuff(all cheapies).

Cheap old brooch.

watch face.

inside watch

the old lock was obviously forced.

Even older lock with queen Victoria seal,....get the chop chop if you played around and opened that without the key.

photo frame(I think).

old tie down(broken off) from a dray(horse and cart delivery).

little old tap from long time ago.

Queensland scout button.

back thereof.

Simple thimble.

Silver apothecary spoon(measure out powders for mixing,..maybe).

Another old spoon.

And four effigies or toys.
lead girl.

Old bust.

Roman soldier.

my favourite is the Aussie digger.

Apothecary spoon is my pick, interesting bit of history, but with added bonus of being silver. Maybe I should take care of some of my relics a bit better, and store them away properly.

Ever thought of mounting your best finds in a picture frame ?

Not hardly even worth a second look(haha),just copper and aluminium, the snake one is cast(pig metal I think people used to call that stuff)

Well Wally, the thought has crossed my mind, but, whilst my darling Mrs Silver loves me lots and has a wonderful sense of humour there are times when I know that I overstep the mark a bit(quite often) when it comes to sneaking off for that special dig(they are all special as we know) and If it were up on the wall framed in some special spot(best spot in the house for that,on the wall near the dining table) and I were out having a most wonderful dig and(as it happens) totally lost track of time, I might round the corner and closer to home notice that very frame on the middle of the road after having been flung physically through the front window and out through the garden to land smack bang on the tarmac,....so I'm not gonna tempt fate at this time in my life just yet,... maybe when I can't walk and am bed ridden with an incurable necrosis,...maybe then I have someone(not Mrs Silver) get one out that I have prepared in my younger times(not yet) to hang up(next to the kitchen table(ha))for me, and the Missus.

Was thinking of putting one up in the bedroom myself but upon reflection that may not be a wise idea.

Uri longread Geller(whew),.... another sleight of hand grubstake,....that was a long read and it turns out he just used his fingers to bend the spoons,...I admit though that there is still a slim chance it could have been him, although I think the establishment that used those spoons was already in it's final stages of life before Uri was born,....none the less he could have found the spoon and bent it before throwing it across the road had he been there at sometime, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and list it as a Geller spoon(thanks).

Silver, I think the name you are looking for for the snake is "Pig Iron." Bob Menzies sold a lot to the Japanese prior to WW11 & earned him the nickname "Pig Iron Bob." I think the name was coined by his opponents because the Japanese reportedly either used it to build arms & militaria & returned much of it to our troops; very rapidly i.e. as ammunition.
