Brings back memories as i used to do a bit of repair work onboard this boat when i was working for the Navy. Still looks in pretty good shape actually. :Y:

You could kill whales for scientific research , and sell them to the Japanese !

Was thinking by the shallow flat bottom and thrusters it would do a good job delivering supplies and stores to remote lighthouses, wharves and Islands etc. Cheers.

Nice to hear that Gary.

I know Defense spends massive dollars on spares and maintenance and sometimes they get value for money.

I am overwhelmed by the waste of resources . just wish there was a way to repurpose these things but reality is they are slow , heavy , fuel hungry and not likely to give much meaningful capability.... not even as a gold dredge or floating knock shop..

So many things at Garden Island Dockyard were destroyed and sold for scrap metal , things like a masive 100 foot metal lathe sold for about $1000 , and also the iconic hammerhead crane was demolished rather than restored .. all irreplaceable pieces of historic machinary :(

But tobogganing has been banned as well.
At least in the NSW Gold Fields. :| :|

The port of call for the Spice Girls would be Cockatoo Island ?

Just checked the sold prices on those and it looks like they waited until the last minute to bid , Wyulda sold for $ 43,000 , Warrigul $ 60,000 , Seahorse Horizon $ 332,000
