When the wife was diagnosed with Parkinson’s we set in motion a plan to boost our retirement savings by building two investment properties, one is now eleven years old the other just on six years. Confirmation yesterday that we have now sold both properties, (one subject to finance approval, fingers crossed) so by this time next month we will be completely debt free. Looking forward to doing some travel while we have the opportunity to, sadly the camper trailer will be sold as it’s no longer practical for the wife.

Neither mate, easier with the bride to just rent cabins and holiday houses, we have picked up a few trips lately on travel auctions.
just got back from the Yorke Peninsula and Marion Bay, heading to Leigh Creek next month and the down the South East to Robe in August.

I’ve just put up a post about timeshares, have a think about those Too if you are thinking of travelling more.
We have a floating week title at Phillip Island but we do not necessarily go there each year but swap for other resorts. In addition once you are a member of a timeshare owners group you get offered cheap rental weeks and super cheap bonus weeks (when they just want to fill rooms at short notice). We get away as much as 4 times a year doing that.
Benefit is you get a decent sized fully equipped apartment not just a hotel or motel room. Saves a lot of money being able to do things like cook for yourself or just laze around.
Also many of the apartments are two bedroom and we have had friends and family come and stay with us for a while.
Hope I am not sounding like a Time share salesman and they may not suit all but we think they’re great for older people like us who can head off at short notice without the encumbrances of kids and work.

You can save a lot of money in self contained cabins etc. Takes the pressure off the Mrs and have an enjoyable time.

Out and about early to the Talbot market for a baked potato brunch then hoping for a bit of “prospecting In the mist“ afterwards.
Might be able to go to that very public patch unnoticed If the fog keeps up.

We used to have a Baked potato booth at the Gabba AFL Games but the other stallholders killed that due to loss of hamburger and pie sales. Sad to be honest.

I'll tell you what made me smile today, last year we stopped at Dunnydoo for lunch and I said to Miss Kay, "The Dunnydoo Council should paint those silos and put Hugh Bowman and Winx on them", well we are here for breakfast and what do I see on the silos, none other than Hugh Bowman and Winx among other wonderful sights, Well Done Dunnydoo

That's fantastic Dave and brings back memories when my brother and myself would go to the Dunedoo Show . Great times sleeping in the pens with the sheep prior to the show.

Isn't it amazing how much we enjoyed those times Mackka, I used to do a similar thing when my boss and I took horses to some of the bush meetings, the horses would be stabled at the course and the boss and I would camp in the horse float.
