I think it is probably a trait of a lot of the prospecting members in this forum... We like to hoard stuff!

You know what I mean, you've got that bit of wire, length of tubing, that weird sized container which is watertight, plumbing join, dongle, electrical do-dad, that thingy, mower blade, rabbit hutch, 1 foot length of rope etc etc etc

It has happened to me more than a few times, you finally throw it out (more than often to please our better halves) and in no time at all, you need it!

My thing this week is the weird sized waterproof container. It was the perfect size for what I wanted it for (my car key), but I hadn't used it in 5+ years, so logic says 'chuck it out'. arggh. Oh well.

I'm sure it has happened to a lot of you too, what have you thrown out that you needed not long after?

I love council clean up time,I will pick up something I think I can use and my wife would say "what are you going to do with that? She has given up saying that as she realises I will actually use it one day.It is amazing what some people throw out these days.I keep a big tub in the shed with bits of metal, tubing, pvc, mesh, etc that may come in handy. You just never know.Have to think very hard before throwing something out.

FIL a few years back was planning his trip to WA and couldn't find Gold & Ghosts. Searched high and low and finally popped the question.
"Oh that tattered book on Ghosts? it went to the Op shop last week"
Mad dash for the Op shop, but long gone.

Hoarder huh  no I'm called a collector    when I do throw something out it takes weeks to get over it, and then another month to find something to replace it with
The biggest bummer is my area don't have a yearly council clean up anymore  individual houses call it in when needed now :(
Has made it so much harder to score now but at least the pile hasn't been rifled through yet
Last one I scored a Len Butterworth beach rod and an alvey reel and sold a vintage pidgon racing timer on ebay for some easy money ;)
