What am I doing right now?
Contemplating how my mobile phone runs my life after having to drive back to work tonight to get it...because I absentmindedly left it behind in my rush to leave on time.
Got home, changed out of my uniform into my PJ's, made a cuppa, went to turn on the 'puta...Oops, where's my phone (use it as a "hotspot" as it's much more cost effective than what "Floptus" were charging me for the little amount of data I use)...hunted through my (HUGE) bag...not there...checked all the other weird places I sometimes leave it...no luck.... must have left it at work!
Figured I could manage without it till tomorrow evening, but No.... have a Plumber coming tomorrow and I'd asked them to call me half an hour before they arrive, so need my phone...then figure it's OK I can send an email...no, can't use the 'puta without my phone... plus I might sleep late without my alarm (though my cat is a pretty good alarm clock patting my face to be let out early!)
OK, relax and breathe... I'll ring one of the night staff at work to see if I did actually leave it there ... because that will save me an hour's drive in my PJ's. Nope, can't do that because their numbers are in my phone...and can't look up the numbers I need online or send them a Facebook message either, because, yes you guessed it!
Jump into the car in my PJ's....Oh sugar, I should have stopped for fuel instead of thinking "I have enough to get home and will re fuel tomorrow". The Servo is just across the road from work and if I'd filled up there then when I went to pay I'd have realised my bankcard is in my phone and could have just crossed the road to get it!
So I need fuel and cash! Check my purse and luckily have a $20 note...arrive at my local Servo 3 minutes after closing time...but lucky someone else is filling up so not totally closed yet...phew!
Arrive back at work and Security guard and staff wet themselves laughing at me in my PJ's ranting about how much my phone runs my life!
Collect phone and return home. I was going to get an early night, however, now wide awake, hence my "rant" here.
Hope someone else finds this amusing, though I am sitting here laughing at myself anyway
