What am I doing right now?

Contemplating how my mobile phone runs my life after having to drive back to work tonight to get it...because I absentmindedly left it behind in my rush to leave on time.

Got home, changed out of my uniform into my PJ's, made a cuppa, went to turn on the 'puta...Oops, where's my phone (use it as a "hotspot" as it's much more cost effective than what "Floptus" were charging me for the little amount of data I use)...hunted through my (HUGE) bag...not there...checked all the other weird places I sometimes leave it...no luck.... must have left it at work!

Figured I could manage without it till tomorrow evening, but No.... have a Plumber coming tomorrow and I'd asked them to call me half an hour before they arrive, so need my phone...then figure it's OK I can send an email...no, can't use the 'puta without my phone... plus I might sleep late without my alarm (though my cat is a pretty good alarm clock patting my face to be let out early!)

OK, relax and breathe... I'll ring one of the night staff at work to see if I did actually leave it there ... because that will save me an hour's drive in my PJ's. Nope, can't do that because their numbers are in my phone...and can't look up the numbers I need online or send them a Facebook message either, because, yes you guessed it!

Jump into the car in my PJ's....Oh sugar, I should have stopped for fuel instead of thinking "I have enough to get home and will re fuel tomorrow". The Servo is just across the road from work and if I'd filled up there then when I went to pay I'd have realised my bankcard is in my phone and could have just crossed the road to get it!

So I need fuel and cash! Check my purse and luckily have a $20 note...arrive at my local Servo 3 minutes after closing time...but lucky someone else is filling up so not totally closed yet...phew!

Arrive back at work and Security guard and staff wet themselves laughing at me in my PJ's ranting about how much my phone runs my life!

Collect phone and return home. I was going to get an early night, however, now wide awake, hence my "rant" here.

Hope someone else finds this amusing, though I am sitting here laughing at myself anyway

No Manpa...he called at 7.15am to say he'd be there in 3 mins...which gave me just enough time to fly out of bed and get dressed (he was booked for 8am so arrived 45 mins early). He's a lucky man as I am usually "not human" in the morning until I've had 2 coffees

Fixed the pilot light, changed the valve ($386) and left a hefty quote for replacing the hot water service!

I'm very blessed to have a delightful 83 year old landlord who leaves me to get quotes for anything that needs to be fixed. Mostly I am pretty handy but don't mess with gas or electricity.

Every time I have to get a tradie in to do something I'm left wondering why I chose Nursing instead of becoming a Plumber, Electrician or a Dentist

Trying to find a new mechanic after he decided without warning me of the increase from $75 to $110 an hour. :money: :money: :poop:
The 4 hour job that I worked out to be $300, but after he rings me to say $550 for 4 hours :awful: with parts.

I ring another who says $90 an hour and then he turns around and says, ha ha maybe I'm too cheap :8

In Guilin, China but have spent the whole day in bed with a broken foot after an over vigorous Chinese foot massage. Bloody hell, I wouldn't want to take her on her hand strength was, well, bone breaking.

My luggage stayed in Shanghai until yesterday ( we fly home tomorrow), lost my Nikon camera, broke my foot but worth every second. What a country.

Regards
Daniel :pickshovel: :goldpan:

Winding down after a wicked afternoon/evening. :8

Had to go up to a mine to pop a cow that had been hit by a truck. On the way there I run across a herd of camels going every which way.
Took care of that. Got some down the front of my pants....not pretty!

20 minutes further on I find a horse had died in a trough. He wasn't there on Wednesday midday when I checked that well, and by today it was about 500 litres of putrid horse soup. Got some down the front of my pants...not pretty!

Get to the mine and the mine manager says to grab my gun and jump in his ute with him to go deal with the cow. About 30 seconds in he starts asking what the hell the smell was and started gagging. I started to tell him about the horse when he hurled all over the steering wheel, the dash and down the front of himself. Got some down the front of my pants too....not pretty!

He got another ute and I followed him in mine this time. Got to the cow and took care of that. Got some down the front of my pants....not pretty!

On the way back to home I spot some lights just off the side of the road in the bushes. I chucked a U-turn and went to see if they were alright as you do out here.

Pulled up, turned my motor off and yelled "hello! It's Steve from Erlistoun Station, just checking to see if you're okay, not broken down or anything"
Next thing the back door of the van flies open and out jumps a mad woman running at me with a lump of wood!
This thing was a unit! Some of the most offensive language I've ever heard and absolutely raving. Something definately not right there and lucky I recorded it.

Finally get to head home again when 20 minutes further on I run into another herd of camels going every which way. Took care of that. Got some down the front of my pants....not pretty!
