Thought i would follow suit and start a My finds thread for this year :)

My first ever outing tonight at a small playground area near home for a cpl of hours, lot of crap but i bagged 55 cents, not much i know but its a start.
No idea what the long thing is, when i dug it out i thought it was an old shotgun shell but on closer inspection no, cleaned it up i think maybe an old lipstick case but it could be much newer then that i have no idea, put a picture up if someone knows

Your probably right about it being lipstick
The nut in the centre ... 5/16" whitworth , got a brass one myself yesterday
Dont worry about the crap ... We all get that ;)

Did a cpl of parks tonight, think someone beat me to one, the bark play area had a cpl of spots where it looked like someone had been digging. Either way scored a few coins around the grass area and a bunch of crap LOL, also got a 5 centi Euro, might be a while before i get another one of them

Cheers

Noice! I've got a short handled lesche shovel, but rarely use it. I usually stick to the normal lesche considering the ground around my area is very damp and easy to cut.

Have been considering the Predator tool Raptor, as I think I would prefer the wider head without the serrated blade - all depends on what condition your ground is in. :)

Hunt went well, new tools were Awsome!!!!! - the shovel i barely needed weight on it, some spots i could just push it in with my hands, nice clean plugs very happy

first the trash

The Good stuff - 4x1c 66,74,75,76 -- 3x2c 66,73,74 -- 2x5c 73,06 -- 1x10c 73 -- 2x$1 84,85 -- 2x$2 88,06 -

Also got 1 x New Penny 1971 AND unbelievably my first silver , the quality is absolute rubbish i didn't even know what it was till i got home, i believe it is a 1910 Shilling ( looks to be Edward VII on the back and the size is 23.5mm i can make out 19_ _ on the front. If i am wrong please correct me :)

Very happy either way

Digging up the rubbish is the frustrating part, i avoid digging anything 8 or below, is that the best way to do it? will i be missing anything important by digging only 10+ signals

Thanks Rocket, i have seen you post that one on your thread and found it helpful, if you only dig 24+ won't you miss any 9ct gold jewellery etc?

I like the idea of digging 24+, tho i don't want to miss any gold finds either lol

Just so many targets that could be 9ct, makes for alot of digging to check them. My knees, and back are not terrific.

Yea i hear what your saying, my back is killing me today after last nights 4 hour stint lol - but i still enjoyed it and cant wait to to go back out when i have recovered :)
