Testing out the new GPX 5000 DIY battery kit for 30 minutes on the way to Wodonga. Little bit from a place that has seen a 6000 and a 7000.

I've tried dishwashing detergent in my Aldi ultrasonic cleaner to try a clean a brass medallion, but nothings happened. Is there any stronger stuff I can put in it to remove the clay, etc. off it?

Try a large jewellery shop as they may have grit used in ultrasonic cleaners.

Found some more bits of gold inside lumps of iron stone just now. Don't ignore the hot rocks.

There is more than one way to skin a cat. Well done. My largest bit was a specimen weighed in at over 3.6 kilo so I used the bathroom scale Had to crush it and got about 17 oz from it.

That’s my specimen find it contained 18 ounces at 1 m in depth to GPZ 7000 back in 2019

Interesting - I was thinking it might be lateritic gold, but I don't know whether that occurs in SA.

I like the look of those heaps - gently sloping ground, shallow diggings, no evidence of recent raking/scraping/excavating. I'm surprised there wasn't more there for you.

True Grubby, but those bloody old timers didn't leave much at all. The shot ratio was horrendous, but you have to dig it. It amazes me how little they left
